Robeson County Jail Roster

The Robeson County Jail Roster in North Carolina is a public resource that allows anyone to check if a specific person is in custody at the county jail. RobesonCourt.us helps find publicly available information about current and recently arrested individuals. Additionally, data can be obtained through the official website of the Robeson County Sheriff's Office, by calling the jail, or visiting in person. The roster enables the public to view inmates' names, charges, bond amounts, and booking dates. It is maintained by the Detention Division of the sheriff's office, and the data is updated as new arrests and releases are processed.

Search Current Inmates in Robeson Jail

There are several ways to find out if a person is currently held in the Robeson County Jail.

Online Search

  1. Visit RobesonCourt.us to find publicly available information about court records and inmates.
  2. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office provides the Police2Citizen tool, which includes an Inmate Search tab. It displays photos, charges, bond information, and recent arrests.
  3. Enter the person's full legal name or booking number, if known.
  4. If the system does not have a separate search field, use the browser's "Find on Page" feature (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to search for the last name in the list.

Information in the Police2Citizen tool changes quickly — bonds may be posted, and individuals released within hours of the record being published. Juvenile offenders are not included in the public roster.

Find Robeson Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created every time a person is officially processed into the jail after an arrest. It is the first documented trace of custody.

During booking, the following data is recorded:

  • Unique booking number
  • Date and time of intake
  • Charges filed
  • Arresting agency (sheriff, city police, state patrol, etc.)
  • Mugshot
  • Bond amount, if set

The quickest way to view these records is the Police2Citizen tool on the sheriff's website. The Recent Arrest Records tab shows photos, charges, and bond information.

If you need records not available in the online roster — such as older bookings or additional details — contact the Detention Division directly at (910) 671-3100. For court records related to a case, use the North Carolina court records portal or contact the Robeson County Clerk of Court through the contact directory.

Search the Robeson Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The roster supports two main search methods.

Search by Last Name

Enter the inmate's last name. You can add the first name to narrow the results. Some practical tips:

  • Use the exact spelling of the legal name — nicknames and abbreviations will not work.
  • If the last name is common (e.g., Smith or Locklear), be sure to add the first name.
  • Try spelling variations if unsure: hyphens, double letters, apostrophes.

Search by Booking Number

The booking number is a unique identifier assigned during processing. It provides an exact result without the risk of confusion with namesakes.

If the Search Yields No Results

  1. Double-check the spelling of the name.
  2. The person may have already been released on bond or transferred to another facility.
  3. There may be a delay of several hours between arrest and appearance in the roster — try again later.
  4. If the person has been sentenced to state prison, use the North Carolina Department of Corrections offender search.
  5. Call the jail — staff may verify information not available online.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Robeson

The Robeson County Jail Roster is not updated in real-time. There is usually a delay between the time of arrest and the record appearing in the Police2Citizen system — from a few hours to the end of the business day, depending on the booking department's workload.

Key limitations to consider:

  • Publication Delay. A recently arrested person may not yet appear in the roster until the booking process is complete.
  • Rapid Record Disappearance. After release on bond, transfer to another facility, or completion of a sentence, the record is removed from the current list.
  • Only Current Custody. The roster shows individuals currently in custody. It is not an archive of all past bookings.
  • Data Entry Errors. Sometimes a name may be recorded incorrectly, complicating the search.

To check court dates, use the court date search on the North Carolina Judicial Branch portal. If you need information about a person no longer in the county jail but possibly serving a sentence in a state facility, go to the NC DAC offender search — it covers state institution inmates, parolees, and probationers.

Records removed from the roster due to release or expunction procedures (legal clearing of a criminal record) cannot be restored through the public online roster.
